Australia updates its privacy laws by adopting first-tranche changes

In a statement today, Australian Attorney General Mark Dreyfus said that the 2024 Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Bill will implement the first tranche of recommendations from the Privacy Act Review including new enforcement tools for the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
