Data Privacy & Security - Online Safety Act and restrictions on minors' social-media access (Malaysia)

Malaysia has enacted the Online Safety Act 2025, or ONSA, introducing a legal framework to enhance online protections, especially for children and families. Under the law, licensed application service providers must implement risk-based safety measures, safeguard priority harmful content such as child sexual abuse material and financial fraud, and facilitate user reporting and assistance.
