Paramount Skydance’s proposed $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery violates US antitrust law because it may substantially lessen competition by eliminating a significant rival, consumers alleged. Plaintiffs are threatened with loss or damage due to increased prices, reduced production, reduced quality, and reduced consumer choice, consumers said in a federal complaint against the companies. They also said Skydance Media’s preceding acquisition of Paramount Global lessened competition and had anticompetitive effects, including increased prices, decreased quality, and decreased consumer choice.
