Antitrust – Baedal Minjok, Coupang Eats – multiple antitrust allegations (South Korea)
South Korea’s two leading food-delivery apps Baedal Minjok and Coupang Eats face scrutiny by the country’s competition regulator over multiple allegations that are interconnected. The food-delivery platforms are suspected of allegedly requiring restaurant vendors to offer equal or better prices on their platforms than on rival platforms. Baedal Minjok is also accused of allegedly engaging in self-preferencing conduct that steered restaurant vendors toward choosing its own delivery service and displaying shorter expected delivery times than were actual.
