M&A - SM Energy Company - Civitas Resources

Denver-based SM Energy Co. and Civitas Resources have agreed to merge in an all-stock transaction. The combined company’s enterprise value of about $12.8 billion is inclusive of each company’s net debt. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026. Both companies are traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
