M&A - MSC - Moby - ferry operators (Italy)

The Italian antitrust authority is investigating ferry operators MSC, SAS, Moby and Grandi Navi Veloci. The AGCM started investigating in 2024, concerned that SAS's acquisition of a minority share in Moby could facilitate coordination of commercial policies between GNV and Moby, potentially leading to customers having fewer route options and higher ferry ticket prices. The link between MSC, Moby and GNV came originally from a financing deal made through SAS, which already controlled GNV.
