Antitrust - Jet Blue - United - Spirit Airline's challenge to joint venture (US)

Spirit Airlines asked the US Department of Transportation to thoroughly investigate Jet Blue’s proposed joint venture with United Airlines. “Based on what is publicly available, implementation of these agreements appear to constitute an anticompetitive unfair method of competition that must be prohibited pursuant to 49 U.S.C. §41712 or otherwise found not be in the public interest,” it claimed.
