Energy & Climate - European Grids Package (EU)

The European Grids Package is the European Commission's initiative to help upgrade and expand grids to support electrification and speed up permitting for grids, storage and renewables. The package was announced as part of the EU Clean Industrial Deal (see here) and Competitiveness Compass for the EU. The initiative will build on the Commission's Grids Action Plan published in November 2023 to support electricity infrastructure expansion, modernization and digitalisation.
