Data Privacy & Security - SK Telecom - 2025 USIM data breach (South Korea)

SK Telecom announced a massive data breach on April 22 that potentially affects nearly half of South Korea's population. It was first detected by the telecom giant when security teams spotted suspicious activities suggesting malware had compromised customer USIM information. The hacking incident is now under investigation by both the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Personal Information Protection Commission.
