Trade - Response/negotiation on US trade restrictions - Trump second term (EU)

The EU is responding to tariffs and further trade threats from the Trump administration through negotiations and preparations for possible retaliation. In July 2025, the two sides agreed on a trade framework that capped US tariffs on most EU goods at 15 percent and committed the EU to cut tariffs on certain US products. Brussels is implementing the deal while seeking further tariff relief in key sectors.
