Motorola Mobility, a subsidiary of Lenovo, has filed a claim against Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson and its subsidiary Ericsson, alleging the company infringed on a standard essential patent concerning 5G communication technology. Motorola claims Ericsson did not show a willingness to negotiate or take a license on Frand terms, despite allegedly using patented technology essential to 5G. Lenovo started the litigation in the US, expanding into the UK and now at the Unified Patent Court.
