Artificial Intelligence - AI Act - National EU Enforcers (EU)

The AI Act’s governance architecture follows a two-tier approach. The European Commission’s AI Office oversees providers of general-purpose AI models like OpenAI and Anthropic at the EU level. At the national level, market surveillance authorities are responsible for applying the rules on AI systems, including the ban on unacceptable use cases and a tight due diligence regime for risky applications.
