Antitrust - World Federation of Advertisers - X Corp.'s litigation over alleged group boycott (US)
X Corp. filed a US complaint accusing the World Federation of Advertisers, Unilever, Mars, CVS Health, and Ørsted of engaging in an illegal group boycott to withhold advertising revenue from its platform. The complaint claims the advertisers collectively decided to dictate brand safety standards to be applied by social media platforms through an initiative called the Global Alliance for Responsible Media, shortcutting the competitive process and allowing the collective views of a group of advertisers with market power to override the interests of consumers.
