Facebook and Cambridge Analytica are facing a proposed class-action lawsuit filed by users accusing the companies of fraud and of violating federal privacy laws after it was revealed that Cambridge Analytica had harvested the personal information of up to 87 million Facebook users to aid political campaigns, including the 2016 US presidential election, allegedly without users' permission or knowledge.
