Data Privacy & Security - Yahoo - Litigation over 2014 data breach (US)

A class action complaint has been filed against Yahoo claiming that the company failed to adequately protect its users or itself from data breaches after it was revealed that sensitive personal account information associated with at least 500 million user accounts was stolen from the company's network in late 2014. The complaint claims that Yahoo failed to establish and implement basic data security protocols and was "so grossly negligent in securing its users' information" that it did not discover the incident until 2016.
