Data Privacy & Security - Amazon - Litigation over collection of facial data from gamers (US)
Amazon has been accused in US federal court of collecting facial data used to make custom digital avatars from video game players without proper notice or consent, violating Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act. According to the complaint, Amazon provided services for Take-Two Interactive Software to compute, host, store, and deliver its games and player data to Internet-connected gaming platforms.
