Data Privacy & Security - TikTok - Canadian privacy authorities investigate TikTok's data collection practices

TikTok’s collection, use and sharing of personal information is under investigation by privacy protection authorities for Canada, Québec, British Columbia and Alberta. The investigation will consider whether TikTok’s practices comply with Canadian privacy legislation and whether the video-streaming app obtains “valid and meaningful consent” for its use of personal information.
