Data Privacy & Security - Google - Rodriguez - Litigation over alleged tracking of mobile app activity despite privacy settings (US)

Counsel for Julie Anna Muniz and Anibal Rodriguez filed a proposed class action accusing Google of tracking their mobile app activity regardless of what safeguard or privacy setting consumers use. The complaint claims that Google’s Firebase software development kit allow it to automatically and systematically intercept, track, and collect users’ data through any apps that implement the SDK even if they adjust their privacy settings to “turn Web & App Activity off . . . at any time” as Google advertises.
