Financial Crime - Tysers Insurance Brokers, HW Wood, JLT Group - bribery scheme in Ecuador (US, UK)

UK-based reinsurance brokers Tysers Insurance Brokers and H.W. Wood have agreed to resolve investigations into violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act arising from their participation in a corrupt scheme to pay bribes to Ecuadorian government officials, the US Department of Justice said. Tysers Insurance Brokers is no longer under investigation for suspected bribery by the UK's fraud agency. The UK's Financial Conduct Authority fined Jardine Lloyd Thompson 7.8 million pounds for a raft of financial-crime failings related to the same case.
