Sector Regulation - Center for Democracy and Technology's case over executive order on Section 230 of CDA (US)

The Center for Democracy and Technology has filed suit against US President Donald Trump in a challenge to the White House executive order seeking to undermine liability protections for online platforms created by Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1996. The executive order "seeks to curtail and chill the constitutionally protected speech of all online platforms and individuals," the suit states. Trump's executive order is also "plainly retaliatory: it attacks a private company, Twitter, for exercising its First Amendment right to comment on the President's statements." The center filed the suit in US District Court for the District of Columbia.
