Antitrust - Virgin Australia - Impact of voluntary administration on competition (Australia)

Virgin Australia Holdings, or Virgin Australia Group, has entered into voluntary administration as the Covid-19 pandemic exacerbates the company's debt issues. The airline operator requested government aid and halted the trading of its shares for a week before the announcement on April 21. Virgin's collapse would lead to Australia's airline market becoming a monopoly for Qantas Airways. Deloitte is the administrator.
