Antitrust - Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies - Progress Rail Services' litigation over alleged monopolization of market for long-haul freight locomotives (US)
Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies’ acquisition of General Electric Transportation created a vertically integrated entity with dominant positions in multiple products and the incentive and ability to engage in anticompetitive exclusionary conduct to harm the competitive process and consumers of long-haul freight locomotives, according to a US complaint filed by Progress Rail Services. Progress claimed that Wabtec’s has used its dominant market position to engage in anticompetitive exclusionary conduct that has harmed and continues to harm competition and consumers.
