Antitrust - EssilorLuxottica - Litigation over alleged eyewear price-fixing scheme (US)

Eyewear consumers filed a US complaint accusing EssilorLuxottica of being the instigator and primary enforcer of a national price-fixing scheme in the consumer eyewear market. According to the complaint, “EssilorLuxottica has formed exclusive licensing agreements and sales agreements with its horizontal competitors in the consumer eyewear market to manipulate and artificially inflate the price of eyewear by as much as 1000 percent for defendants’ collective financial benefit.”
