Brazil’s antitrust authority, CADE, is investigating a group of multinational companies, including Vale, Nestlé, and Klabin, for allegedly engaging in anticompetitive conduct that involved the sharing of sensitive labor market information. According to the initial findings from CADE’s Superintendence, the companies' alleged conduct took place from at least 2004 until early 2021. The Superintendence said that the conduct was facilitated through institutionalized groups such as the Executive Salary Group (GES) and the Executive Benefits Group (GEAB), with regular meetings both in person and virtually.
