Apple opposes OpenAI's ask to look at X Corp. settlement in US antitrust case

( September 17, 2026, 17:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Apple has filed an opposition to OpenAI's motion to compel X Corp. and Apple to share details on an agreement that settled X's claims against the iPhone maker, which allege Apple engaged in an anticompetitive agreement with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into the iPhone operating system. "Although Apple disputes Plaintiffs' allegations and denies engaging in any unlawful conduct, Apple agrees that the information OpenAI seeks has limited relevance to the issues to be decided at summary judgment," Apple said in its opposition, filed in the Northern District of Texas. Compelled disclosure would also unnecessarily implicate significant confidentiality interests, and the motion should be denied, Apple said. See attached documents....
