ACLU, others support Anthropic's US challenge to security risk label

They filed a brief in support of Anthropic’s request for judgment in a case challenging the government’s labeling it a national security threat. “Privacy laws in the US lag decades behind the technology and leave enormous gaps in protection. [DOD] and other government agencies ‘lawfully’ collect Americans’ data in bulk, including through commercial data purchases and surveillance that operate outside of any statutory framework or court oversight.
