UK privacy regulator to publish new AI strategy this year after government request

( June 1, 2026, 16:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK’s privacy regulator is developing a new AI workplan for 2026/27 that will focus on boosting public trust in AI and giving businesses more certainty on how data protection law applies to AI, it said in a letter to the government’s tech ministry. In response to a request for a plan to support AI-powered innovation, the Information Commissioner’s Office said its priorities include guidance on agentic AI and support for navigating increasingly personalized AI.
