Shanghai unveils AI push for services sector in new policy directive
( May 28, 2026, 09:57 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Shanghai said it will accelerate the development of AI-powered industrial software through expanded computing infrastructure, large-model deployment and stronger data governance to advance breakthroughs in core software technologies, according to a set of implementation opinions aimed at boosting the services sector announced Wednesday. The city also plans to promote industry-specific large models and general AI agents in sectors including manufacturing and finance. In addition, the government plans to expand AI applications in advertising and healthcare, including AI-generated content and clinical support systems, while increasing investment support for AI-related professional services through its AI industry fund.
