Draft bill should ‘close gaps’ in Germany’s law on digital violence

( April 17, 2026, 13:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A draft law on digital violence against women and girls has been presented by the German Justice minister Stefanie Hubig on Friday. In order to “close the gaps” in the current regulation, The draft would criminalize the production and distribution of unauthorized intimate images, as well as deepfakes – not including satire –, and surveillance using GPS trackers. The law also aims to hold online platforms more accountable for their role in digital violence.Draft attached (in German)....
