South Korea approves plan to migrate public-sector information systems to cloud

( March 11, 2026, 07:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s government on Wednesday approved a policy roadmap to migrate all administrative and public-sector information systems to cloud services by 2030. With the public-sector cloud transition rate standing at 42.4 percent, the roadmap aims to create an ecosystem that allows authorities to prioritize the use of private-sector cloud services to strengthen system stability. The roadmap was approved at a ministerial meeting on science and technology policy, presided over by the Minister of Science and ICT. At the meeting, the government also approved a so-called K-Moonshot project, proposed by the Presidential Council on National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, to focus national resources on research into foundational technologies in 12 areas, the Ministry of Science and ICT said.The statement is attached (in Korean)....
