UK must pursue licensing-based AI, not weaken copyright, lawmakers warn government

To protect its creative sector, the government must not weaken copyright law with its previous plans for an opt-out model, and must make training transparency statutory and create conditions for a licensing market. The government will publish its report on the economic impacts of AI and copyright, seen as the next step forward in the standoff between it and the creative sector by March 18.
