OpenAI says it disrupted AI use in Chinese operation against Japanese PM

They included China’s “covert influence operations” to silence critics at home and abroad, deploying a wide array of tactics that range from operating thousands of fake social-media accounts to report dissidents’ accounts to using AI models to create and edit content for its misinformation campaigns. One example the report detailed was against Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, who has been a target of China’s wrath in recent months over her hardline stance against Beijing. Cases outside China also highlighted in the report included romance scam networks and Russia’s content farm....
