But an Illinois federal judge stopped short of blessing Applied Systems’ theory that the improvements, on their own, qualify as derivative works.In a case which could test more than the bounds of a single master agreement (MA), Applied Systems Inc. last week won a preliminary injunction against tech startup Ardent Labs, doing business as Comulate, whose artificial intelligence-powered platform automates insurance accounting processes....
