South Korea to set up one-stop support hub to foster public-sector AI projects

( January 28, 2026, 02:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea will establish a one-stop support structure to help governmental and other public organizations carry out artificial intelligence–led transformation projects throughout the full cycle, from planning to implementation. The Ministry of Science and ICT announced the plan Wednesday at a scheduled ministerial meeting on science and technology policies, saying that government funding to support such projects will rise about fivefold to 2.4 trillion won ($1.68 billion) in 2026 from 500 billion won in 2025. The ministry also said that each government ministry will be asked to draw up plans by March on how to increase the amount of public works that can be freely used for the development of AI systems.The statement is attached (in Korean)....
