EU lawmakers call for banning AI-generated nudity apps under AI Act

( January 15, 2026, 15:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A cross-party coalition of EU lawmakers is calling for a ban on AI-powered nudity applications in the EU, following a backlash on X's AI model Grok generating non-consensual intimate images and child sexual abuse material. The 57 Members of the European Parliament, spanning from the center-right to the extreme left, urge the European Commission to ban this AI application under the EU AI Act. Under the AI law, the commission should review annually the list of banned use cases, but missed the first deadline for doing so last August.Letter in attachment....
