LivCor, DOJ reach tentative agreement to settle US algorithmic rent-setting suit

( December 23, 2025, 21:54 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Justice has reached a tentative agreement with LivCor LLC that would prohibit algorithmic coordination and the exchange of competitively sensitive data with competitors as part of an antitrust lawsuit targeting rent-fixing by landlords. LivCor LLC, a Blackstone portfolio company, would be required to stop using any anticompetitive algorithm that generates pricing recommendations using its rivals' competitively sensitive data or that incorporates certain anticompetitive features. It would also have to stop attending or participating in RealPage-hosted meetings of competing landlords. The proposed consent decree builds on the DOJ's other proposed consent decrees against RealPage and two other large landlords, Cortland Management, and Greystar Management Services, the agency said in a statement.Statement follows....
