Public hearing set for South Korea's proposed AI promotion laws

( November 26, 2025, 08:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The South Korean parliamentary committee overseeing artificial intelligence–related affairs plans to hold a public hearing on Dec. 9 regarding five newly proposed laws aimed at promoting the AI industry. The National Assembly’s Science, ICT, Broadcasting, and Communications Committee said in a notice that the hearing will be held to “gather a wide range of opinions from academia and industry regarding the proposed AI-related legislation, which aims to establish a policy-support foundation for industrial development and talent cultivation.” Three of the five proposed laws focus on promoting the AI data-center industry, the fourth has a broader aim of advancing the AI industry as a whole, and the fifth centers on the cultivation of AI talent, according to the notice.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
