New York defends AI pricing transparency law as National Retail Federation challenge fails

( October 8, 2025, 22:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: New York Attorney General Letitia James won an order by a federal judge granting the state's motion to dismiss the National Retail Federation's constitutional challenge to New York's law that requires retailers to disclose when a consumer's price has been set by an algorithm using the consumer's personal data. US District Judge Jed Rakoff ruled that the federation “has not plausibly alleged that the challenged disclosure requirement violates the First Amendment. Thus, plaintiff also cannot demonstrate an entitlement to preliminary injunction relief.”See attached document....
