GOV.UK Chat, launched in pilot phase this week, will trawl and interpret the government's 100,000 pages of information resources, but for now it comes with hallucination warnings. Officials want to set an example of how to grasp AI's benefits, but without rapid improvement, the government risks undermining trust.With the UK's AI sovereignty ambitions a hot topic in recent months, the government is raising eyebrows with its latest creation: a chatbot on its own website to offer personalized answers about public services — but based entirely on a US technology platform and hosted in Ireland....
