US publishers sue Google over anticompetitive AI, search tying

( September 12, 2025, 16:33 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google has leveraged a monopoly over web search to illegaly extract content for its AI-powered search services, according to a lawsuit filed by Penske Media Corporation, Rolling Stone and other US publishers. "Google’s use of its monopoly power to coerce publishers to supply content for other, often competing, purposes as a condition of receiving search referrals from Google amounts to a form of unlawful reciprocal dealing that harms competition in violation of the Sherman Act," the publishers said in a complaint filed in the District of Columbia.See attached file....
