Google signs EU's code of practice for AI models

( July 30, 2025, 07:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google will sign the EU's code of practice meant to facilitate compliance with the AI Act's rules for general-purpose AI models, which will take effect on Aug. 2. The company will sign the code in full, meaning that it will not opt out from any measures, even though the statement expresses some reservations on copyright and innovation aspects. Google joins leading AI firms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Mistral in subscribing to the voluntary code, whereas Meta has announced it will find its own way to comply with the AI law. Major B2B companies like Microsoft and Aleph Alpha are also set to sign. Full statement follows....
