Vietnam adopts law on digital technology industry

( June 16, 2025, 08:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Vietnam’s National Assembly on Saturday passed the Law on the Digital Technology Industry, with over 92 percent of lawmakers ((441 out of 445)  voting in favor. The law provides a legal framework for the country’s development of the digital technology industry, the semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence and digital assets. It recognizes the legal status of digital assets under civil law, stipulates rights to ownership, transactions, data security, dispute resolution and specifies the role of the state in managing these assets. It also encourages the development and application of AI in different industries and fields, the development of educational institutions, vocational-training institutions specializing in digital technology and introduces policies to attract and develop "digital technology talent."The statement, in Vietnamese, follows: ...
