New York lawmakers send frontier AI safety bill to governor for approval

Kathy Hochul's desk for approval. The New York Assembly and Senate have approved the proposed Responsible Artificial Intelligence Safety and Education (RAISE) Act, which will put safety standards in place for frontier artificial intelligence models, including creating a safety plan to prevent risks to public safety, such as automated crime or bioweapons.
