Chegg files amended US monopolization claims against Google over AI

( June 9, 2025, 23:22 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Online publisher Chegg has filed amended US monopolization claims against Google over its alleged republishing of Chegg's content without permission in Google's AI-generated answers. Google's search monopoly gives it control over online distribution of search results for digital publishers, which it uses "to force digital publishers to give up access to their content without monetary compensation," Chegg said in its filing to the US District Court for the District of Columbia. Google either republishes portions of a digital publisher's content or uses it for its AI products to summarize their contents, resulting in consumers increasing consuming other web publishers' content on Google's search engine, "which starves those platforms of traffic and revenue," it said.See attached file....
