Illegal facial data collection results in fine for business in southwest Chinese city

The penalty was issued during a municipal crackdown on the technology abuse to an unnamed company in the Dadukou district, which received a 10,000-yuan fine ($1,390), a correction order and a warning for failing to adequately fulfill its responsibilities, in violation of China’s Personal Information Protection Law and the Regulations on Network Data Security Management.
