EU Commission ready to listen to countries' concerns about AI Act

The discussion comes amid growing support in Brussels for a temporary pause on the law’s enforcement, following delays in technical standards and pressure from the US. Virkkunen emphasized that the AI Act is being implemented in an innovation-friendly way and targets only high-risk AI applications. She confirmed that work on the code of practice for general-purpose AI models is ongoing and should be finalized soon.The upcoming ministerial discussion on a potential pause of the AI Act would provide a “good opportunity” to hear the concerns of EU member states regarding the law, EU digital chief Henna Virkkunen said today....
