Anthropic sued by Reddit in California state court over alleged unauthorized data use

( June 4, 2025, 18:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Reddit has filed a lawsuit in California state court accusing artificial intelligence startup Anthropic of using the online-discussion site’s data without a licensing agreement and violating its contract agreement with users. "Anthropic suffers from corporate cognitive dissonance — its actions do not mirror its claimed values," Reddit said in its complaint. "This case is about the two faces of Anthropic: the public face that attempts to ingratiate itself into the consumer’s consciousness with claims of righteousness and respect for boundaries and the law, and the private face that ignores any rules that interfere with its attempts to further line its pockets."See attached complaint....
