Poland puts pausing enforcement of the AI Act on EU ministers' table

By Luca Bertuzzi ( June 3, 2025, 10:40 GMT | Insight) -- Poland has proposed delaying the dates of application of the EU’s AI Act and other digital laws where technical standards are not yet available in a note to be discussed at an EU ministerial meeting on June 6. This “stop-the-clock” approach has already been used in sustainability legislation and is currently under consideration of the European Commission. The Polish government also pointed to the need to ensure compliance and reduce regulatory burdens, especially for high-risk AI applications and SMEs.
