AI use by UK companies delayed by lack of regulatory clarity, says government study

( June 2, 2025, 09:24 GMT | Official Statement) -- UK companies would adopt more AI and advanced technologies, if there were clearer regulation on AI and environmental technologies in place, according to a study on barriers to tech uptake commissioned by the government. Business leaders noted concerns around being unintentionally non-compliant. The study found that government-led market interventions such as changing regulations and standards are a key action for increasing AI and advanced tech adoption, particularly among more reluctant firms and sectors.
