UK public research organizations can apply to link to EU’s AI supercomputers

( May 27, 2025, 08:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Public research organizations in the UK can now apply to become the link to the EU’s supercomputing facilities for AI development. The UK government will select one organization or consortium to apply to the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. In EU parlance, the selected organization can become an “AI Factory Antenna” with an EU “AI Factory” — part of the network of ecosystems incorporating supercomputers, data centers and associated facilities. The UK will allocate up to 2.5 million pounds ($3.4 million) if its bid is successful, which would be matched by the EU.
